This help section is designed to answer "general" questions about our control panel area.
OVERVIEW
The master navigation for your control panel is on the far left. Each link
and how to use it is described below.
We have tried to make your personal control panel as simple to use as possible
but we are always looking for additional suggestions and comments. If you have a
suggestion or comment please
email us.
ADDING AN ITEM
Select the "Add An Item" link to the left. Once the page
loads you will see that we have provided most all of the various
instructions for each field to help you add your item quickly and easily the first time.
If you have paid for the additional image display feature, you will also have an image box just under the item description box. By default this field will display blank.jpg - if you do not have an image to upload for the item you are adding, you do not have to do anything at all. If you do have an image to upload place the name of the image file in this box in its entirety. Example, the file is named 97beebasket.jpg just type 97beebasket.jpg in the box. As a rule the name of your image should NEVER have spaces, it should all be together. Once you have added your item information you will have to upload your image to our website, to do this follow the instructions for image upload below.
Once you have filled out each item field as completely as possible, click on the
"Submit Item" button at the bottom left of the page. If you find that you have made an error
after submitting your item, choose the "Edit An Item" link and
follow the help paragraph below.

NOTE ABOUT SOLD ITEMS: While not required, we ask that when an item sells instead of deleting the item from your list please change the item "Status" from "O" (open) to "S" (sold). You do this by following the "Edit An Item" instructions above. Once you have opened the sold item's record, find the "Status" field and change it from "O" (open) to "S" (sold). If the item sold for less than the original asking price, the original accessories listed changed and/or the shipping terms changed please change these fields also.
This will do two things, it will remove it from your Control Panel Area AND place just the sold item's information on our Sold Items page on TheBasketMarket.com (your personal information will be removed from the ad). TheBasketMarket.com works very closely with the Bentley Guide helping this valuable resource collect actual selling prices for Longaberger® items. By helping us provide this information to the Bentley Guide, you help them provide the most accurate pricing guide for Longaberger® items available.
DOWNLOAD
LIST
If you would like to download a list of your items click the Download List
link from the left navigation. This will produce an entire list of your current
items sorted by category. While your mouse is over the items list press the Ctrl
and A buttons on your keyboard at the same time, this will highlight the entire
list. Then "right" click your mouse which brings up a small menu window click
"copy" within that menu. Now the entire list is on your computer's clipboard
memory. Open your computer's "Notepad" program (usually found under "All
Programs" in the "Accessories" folder) once you have opened Notepad "right click
your mouse again and click "paste". Save the file to your computer using a
unique identifier.
The @ sign is placed between each field of information to help when importing to spreadsheet format within programs such as "Excel" (it's the unique Other delimiter to be used when importing). To remove it from your list if you should want a simple saved copy of your list for archiving, begin by opening your saved file from the steps in the first paragraph. Once opened in "Notepad" select "Edit" from the top navigation then select "Replace". When the replace window opens put the @ in the top field and then place you cursor in the bottom field and then push your space bar twice, click the "Replace All" button then save the file again.
Now you may upload this file to programs such as "Excel" or print to archive your list for quick reference if you have not removed the @ sign from the list as described above. Use the @ sign as when importing this file as a Delimited file into "Excel" by first opening "Excel" then open a blank workbook (spreadsheet). From the top navigation select "Data" then "Get External Data" and the "Import Text File". Once the window opens find your file, double click your file to select and load it to the "Text Import Wizard" window. On the first screen be sure the "Delimited" file type is selected then press "Next". On this screen check the box next to "Other" and type in the @ sign to the right of "Other" then select next. On the final screen nothing need be done except click "Finish".
Your file has been imported to "Excel" now work with it as you would other files, but remember to save it first.
UPLOADING
IMAGES
(optional feature - $50 additional fee each year)
Main Image
There are 2 images in your image folder
to begin with - main.jpg and blank.jpg. The main.jpg is a tiny default image for
the main photo to be located just above your email. If you choose to have a
group photo of some baskets to display in this area you should make the image no
higher than 160 pixels then rename it to main.jpg. Once this has been done,
select the "Upload Images" link to the left. When the image upload program is
displayed, use the browse button to find the main.jpg image on your computer.
Once found double clicking the image file will load it's location into the data
box of the upload program. Click the submit link on the upload program (just
under the browse button), this will begin the upload process. A gray box with "FILE
SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED" will display
just under the primary box. Your image has been uploaded and replaced our
default file. You may change this photo as often as you wish as long as the file
you upload is named main.jpg the new image will overwrite the old image.
